1. About PlotRoom
PlotRoom helps you discover television series and join episode-specific discussions through comments, nested replies, and reactions. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app and website.
PlotRoom is developed and operated by Ali Shaaban, an independent developer. You can contact the developer at ali.shaaban2002@gmail.com .
2. Information we collect
- Account and profile: your email address, name, username, account identifiers, verification status, and optional profile image.
- Authentication: a password hash if you use a password, verification and recovery records, authentication tokens, the device name supplied at sign-in, and token usage and expiry information. Google accounts also have a linked Google identity identifier.
- Community activity: comments, replies, reactions, their associated episodes and timestamps, reports and report details, blocks, moderation records, and in-app notifications.
- Preferences: spoiler protection, episode reveal choices, discussion sorting, data saver, appearance, and notification settings.
- Technical information: network requests, errors, and operational logs. Website sessions can contain an IP address and browser information. Mobile diagnostics and optional analytics are described below.
- Support correspondence: information you choose to send when contacting the developer, including privacy and deletion requests.
3. How we use information
We use this information to create and authenticate accounts, verify email addresses, support password recovery, display profiles and discussions, record reactions, deliver account emails and in-app notifications, apply preferences, and provide discussion history. Reports, blocks, moderation records, and technical information help us address abuse, protect access, troubleshoot failures, and maintain and improve PlotRoom.
4. Google Sign-In
You may sign in or register with Google. PlotRoom validates a Google identity token and uses its identity identifier and, when provided, verified email information and name to establish your account. You choose a PlotRoom username.
This integration does not give PlotRoom your Google password or access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or contacts. PlotRoom issues its own session token after sign-in.
5. Public contributions and private account information
Your discussion contributions, display name, username, and profile image may be visible to other users, including people browsing discussions without an account where access is available. Reactions contribute to visible reaction counts. Do not include sensitive personal information in public posts.
Email addresses and authentication credentials are not included in public discussion profiles. Preferences, block lists, reports, and notifications are account or staff features rather than public discussion posts. Authorized staff can access information needed for moderation.
You can remove your own eligible comments from public display. This does not erase the stored comment body. Moderators can hide or remove content; reports can preserve evidence copies. Other people may also keep copies of content they have already seen.
6. Service providers and mobile diagnostics
- Google: provides optional Google Sign-In. Its handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Crashlytics: Android release builds enable crash reporting by default, subject to build configuration. Reports include exception types, stack traces, and app, device, and installation diagnostics. The app's Dart error handler sends exception types rather than raw exception messages and does not deliberately attach account credentials or comment bodies. Native crash diagnostics are also processed by Firebase.
- Firebase Analytics: usage analytics is optional and off until enabled in Settings → Usage Analytics on the device. When enabled in a supported build, it records fixed screen names and automatic usage, app, and device information, including app-instance identifiers. The app does not deliberately send search text, comment bodies, account identifiers, or raw route parameters as analytics events. Advertising-ID collection and advertising personalization are disabled in the reviewed Android configuration. You can turn analytics off on the device; this stops future collection and does not erase previously collected information. Crash reporting is separate from this setting. See Firebase privacy information.
- The Movie Database (TMDB): supplies television metadata and artwork. Catalog searches send the search query to TMDB through our backend. Loading artwork from its image service also sends network information to that service. See TMDB's Privacy Policy.
- Hosting and email: PlotRoom's backend infrastructure hosts account and community data. Email delivery providers process the recipient address and account messages needed to send verification and recovery emails. The developer's support mailbox processes correspondence you send.
- Website fonts: the website loads fonts from Bunny Fonts, which receives network information when your browser requests the font files.
Information is shared with these services as needed for the functions described above. Public contributions are shared with other users. Provider-specific processing, retention, and available controls are also subject to the providers' policies.
7. Security and device storage
PlotRoom uses password hashing, token-based authentication, authorization checks, and access restrictions for account and staff functions. The production website and API use HTTPS. The mobile app stores authentication tokens using platform secure storage. No system can guarantee complete security.
The website uses session cookies where sessions are needed and stores your appearance choice in browser local storage. The mobile app stores device preferences and cached images. Account deletion does not automatically clear every local cache or device preference.
8. Retention
Account information is kept while the account exists. Different records have different deletion behavior: public contributions, moderation evidence, audit records, operational logs, and backup copies are not all erased by account deletion. No single retention period applies to all information.
The current backend does not automatically purge retained discussion bodies or report evidence when an account is deleted. Backup cleanup depends on operational settings; account deletion does not selectively erase historical backups. Firebase information has separate provider settings. Contact the developer about retained personal information and removal requests.
9. Account deletion
You can request deletion by emailing the developer after following the instructions on our Account Deletion page. Ownership must be verified before a request is processed. The app also provides an account deletion option in its account settings for eligible signed-in accounts.
Completed account deletion removes the account record, including its email address, profile name, username, and password hash if present. It revokes all PlotRoom device tokens, removes the stored profile image if present, and removes linked Google identities, verification-code records, account preferences, episode reveal permissions, your reactions, block relationships, and notifications addressed to your account.
Comments and replies remain stored. Their account link is removed and the discussion identifies the author as “Deleted user.” Their text is not automatically erased or checked for personal information you included. Reports, evidence snapshots, and staff audit records can remain, including identifiers or text captured before deletion. Notifications already delivered to other users can also remain with the actor account link removed.
Website session records, operational logs, support emails, historical backups, and information held by third-party services are not automatically erased by the account deletion action. If you want personal information in retained content reviewed for removal, include that request when contacting support. We do not promise instant deletion or a fixed completion or retention period.
10. Children's privacy
The current app's terms describe PlotRoom as intended for people aged 13 and older. It is a television discussion community rather than a service directed at young children. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact the developer so the situation and an appropriate removal request can be reviewed. Local age and parental-permission requirements may also apply.
11. Privacy requests and choices
You can edit supported profile details and account preferences in the app. For questions about access, correction, removal, or other requests concerning your personal information, contact ali.shaaban2002@gmail.com . We may need to verify ownership before acting on a request. Do not email passwords, authentication tokens, or one-time verification codes.
12. Policy updates
This policy may change as PlotRoom develops or its data practices change. Updated text will be available on this page with a revised last-updated date. Review it when deciding how to use the service.
